Gears of war 2: User data lost after software update.

Hi,

I lost my user data after a software update.

I was level 80 in multiplayer

I lost part of the statistics

But I have the goals unlocked that show I can not be at a low level, and show that I've played a lot.

I do not know who to contact and how to do it. I would like to get my data back, because I do not want to start all over again. And I want to understand what is the cause of this problem.

This game may not have support available for it, but since Microsoft currently owns it I would contact them as they're the current publishers and owners of the Gears of War franchise:

1. Go to
http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

2. Click "Games"

3. Click "See Other Options"

4. Click "Errors"

5. Click "Show contact options"

6. Click "Chat with Xbox Support" or "Request Callback"

Otherwise, this seems to be a common punishment for cheating, although if not, you should try erasing your local save on your console at My Games and apps > Games > Push START (3 lines button) on your game > Manage game >
Erase save from this console only > Reboot console > see if your ranks return after it finishes syncing data.

Apologies but could you clarify your issue?, I'm guessing you have lost some data for Gears of war?.

(Road to Ruin DLC is a "lost chapter" that happens in the middle of GoW 2)

Hey again shadowd! Thanks for getting back to me with all of that info.

That seriously sounds odd. From what you're describing (as well as the fact that you've played through Gears of War 2 more than once already without issue) it definitely sounds to me like you're on the right track with your thought process. If your Gears of
War 2 data is in some way corrupted, it could cause issue launching the game.

If you're willing to lose you profile's Gears of War 2 data, I suggest giving the following steps a shot:

On your console's dashboard, go to the Settings Hub, then select System.
Select Storage.
Select your hard drive.
Select Games and Apps.
Delete your Gears of War 2 data.
Back out of your hard drive.
Select your Cloud Storage.
Delete your Gears of War 2 data.

Obviously, this will delete all of your Gears of War 2 data. It's certainly understandable if you don't want to give this a shot. However, if you do, it will give us a hint as to whether or not the issue lies with your data.
