Gears of War 2 - Sound is off, options reset themselves when hitting a checkpoint...

I just recently wanted to replay the older Gears of War games to finally grab all collectibles etc. The download codes from the Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition worked properly for all four games and I just finished Gears of War without any issues. But for
some unknown reason Gears of War 2 doesn't work properly... more specific the sound isn't working, unless I move the sliders in the audio options. And every time I hit a checkpoint I have to do that all over again, because the options reset themselves. Additionally
all the other options (game, controls etc.) are blank and reset themselves to a blank setting again when I hit a checkpoint or return to the title screen.

Other than that any progress for achievements (kills, collectibles...) is stuck at 0 and trying to pick up a collectible not only doesn't count, but also resets all options again causing the sound to turn off...

It's a fairly weird problem and I never encountered anything like this, but it is kind of annoying and I can't enjoy the cinematics properly without any sound. Anyone having the same problem or even better knows how to fix this?

Okay, I see that option, does it retain all your xbox friends and game checkpoint saves?

 

Which Campaign Do You Like Better?

Gears 1 or Gears 2?

While I loved every bit of the Gears 1 campaign I am about 3/4 of the way through Gears 2 and am absolutely blown away. The level design is much better, IMO, and the game seems to "flow" better checkpoint to checkpoint. The only downside is Gears 2 doesn't
dump achievements on you like Gears 1 did. Who doesn't love achievements?

That's not an issue we've seen before, very interesting. Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the game yet to see if that helps or any other troubleshooting steps?

Haven't tried anything for troubleshooting, but it isn't necessary anymore. Continued playing yesterday and the issues were gone... I heard that Xbox Live was facing some problems recently, probably related to that, but I'm not sure. Anyways, like I said,
worked perfectly fine after I continued playing.
