Gears 5 won't install or uninstall on XBOX game pass (Beta)

I found my solution. The problem was in the Microsoft Store. XBOX beta app uses the MS Store as its backend for managing installs etc. Open the Microsoft Store, click on the ". . ." in the upper left, and select Library. It's either in the "ready to install"
or "downloads" folder. I either deleted it or tried to reinstall from there, and that fixed it. (sorry I can't be more specific - it was over a week ago that I fixed it)

MS should maybe put some work into this - bugs with installation and maintenance are user experience nightmare in a "SaaS" model. And unlike the odd reinstall of a simple app, AAA game installations often measure in the 10's of GB, so are not trivial, especially
for those with data caps. I've now had Gears choke on installation 3 different times. Also, it appears that the frequent Windows updates also can screw up installed games, forcing reinstall of an update or entire game. And even the weird double-check it
does every time I launch a game for the first time is sloppy from an end user perspective. I am logged on, and installing on a trusted machine, I should not have to click twice when I first launch to allow it to play.

I get it, Software as a Service is a tricky business, from a technical standpoint, but a gaming service should be silky smooth, similar to being on a console. please consider working in that direction - or at the very least, improving the integration with
the MS Store for situations such as myself and others on this thread. A gamepass user should be able to clean up a borked install from within the App.

Also, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have access to the Ultimate Edition of Gears 5.

If none of the suggestions work, then try uninstalling the Xbox (beta) app, then uninstall Gears 5. After that reinstall Xbox (beta) app. That should hopefully fix the issue.
