    Hi,

    I have an issue with Gears 5 on PC.

    The icon for the game is greyed out. I was able to play earlier and made it till Act 3 but can't launch the game anymore.

    Like it wants to download an update but it won't. Store says all apps up to date.

    If I try to launch it here anyways it takes me to gaming services, which used to happen earlier too sometimes but restarting PC used to fix it but not this time.

    If I try to launch from xbox app then xbox app minimises but nothing happens.

    If I try to launch from Microsoft store then also nothing happens.

    Windows updates are also all done.

    Game version as per add remove programs is 1.1.108.0

    Ryzen 3600

    16 GB RAM

    Geforce 960 4GB

    I hope I don't have to download it all again, I have data caps and already had to download 45GB of Rage 2 twice.

    Your save files are in the cloud. The game will stay installed, it will just reset to default.

    Wow this solved the issue, it was indeed an issue of stuck update.

    I did a reset on Gears 5, game disappeared in xbox app. Searched for Gears 5 in xbox app and selected install.

    A 500mb file was downloaded and game runs fine now.

    Game version has changed from 108 to 109.

    Have you tried resetting the Xbox beta app or repair it? Just right click the app, click more, click app settings and in there you can find the reset and repair. Also I get an app icon greyed out like that after an update sometimes, I just unpin it then
    repin.

    Maybe Reset of the Windows Store Cache will fix the issue.

    Press the Windows key and type wsreset.

    Wait for the command to execute and that should reset the Windows Store cache. Launch the Windows Store app and check for any improvements.
