Gears 5 half downloaded

I've now half downloaded gears 5 twice on PC. Each time it forces me to press play before it has fully finished downloading and then won't continue the download or give an option to do so. On the game title screen it just stays at the 57% loaded state,
the first time, and 44% loaded state, this time. Any suggestions please. I've already reset the windows store many times. I also am doing this in China so it's even more tiresome due to the wayward and intermittent internet here... But the issue doesn't seem
to be with that but being stuck in a half downloaded state.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. As you're having difficulty in downloading or installing games using the Xbox (Beta) app in conjunction with Xbox Game Pass for PC, you may wish to try the solutions available

, as well as our support article Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) FAQ to see if they may resolve your issue.

I also recommend that should you run into any issues with the app that you report this using the Feedback area within the app as it is still in Beta testing.
In the app, when you pull out the menu at the bottom, there is an option for Feedback. If you report through there, that can get that information directly to the developers to investigate or add/fix those features. Reporting
these instances is very helpful in improving the performance of the app.

Give the troubleshooting a try and let us know the results.

Hi Felix,

I managed to fix this by uninstalling the game again, resetting the windows store, updating the Xbox Game Pass app and then downloading the game through the XGP app rather than Window's store, although I notice that they both run simultaneously. I was also
careful not to hit "play game" before the download had finished completely. Hopefully this advice will help others, especially those in China.

Yes, this issue is happening on Both OS's.

This also happened on Gears 5 after playing about half way through. But Battlefield, Star wars, Crysis 3 Destiny 2 seems to work fine. It looks like when i download games from Xbox it never works.

hardly any games are shrinkable, gears 5 is and it reduces it by half virtually, it removes high res assets and other files, does not compress the game at all.

Hi. I picked it up from EB Games this morning and currently installing it and downloading the 15GB Update. Total install progress so far (including update and installing disc)... 61%.

Wow this is going faster than I was expecting.
