Gears 5 Crashes and causes my mic to not work.

Has anyone had this happen or found a solution? Gears 5 since launch crashes pretty frequently during the load times between games or on start up. Basically anytime I see the gear spinning in the bottom right i'm rolling the dice.

I've also noticed that if i'm using a mic with any other program that mic will stop working if i'm hearing sound or talking during the load...and that if ANY other program is using sound it seems to increase the probability of it crashing to 100%. The
error code I get is gw502 which means the video card...but that doesn't make sense either. Anyway I have an incredibly large library of current games and non of them share this problem and I haven't the first clue how to fix. I have the latest nvidia driver.
Updating to it did help because before not only did it crash and my mic would stop working...I had no way to reset my mic outside restarting my computer and often times if I heard sound at all while playing (like i'm using discord or youtube for example) the
sound would get distorted before my game would crash.

So nvidia driver helped soften the problem but its still a problem with this game.

I have reinstalled the game as well as tried what they suggested in the link as well as others I found. Still having the exact same crashes during the same times.

Thanks for coming to the forums with the issue on your game. Since you have updated the video card we recommend to

uninstall and reinstall the game. You can also view this steam thread on the
GW502 error and what they did to fix it.

Try these out and let us know.

Thank You For Asking This Question, The Problem You Are Having Often Occurs With New And Developing games, We Are Unsure On what is causing the issues and the only thing i could reccomend is to stay up and informed with the games patchnotes and see iif anyone
else is having the same issue.

I have not had that issue, but what I do have is when I launch the game it says there is a update but there is nothing there , then hoots me back to main screen . Oooo the Joy's. 👍

I'm having the EXACT same issue. I have posted this same question on the gears forums, and on the gearsofwar reddit. I have not found a solution yet besides doing exactly what you currently are. I have tried everything imaginable and nothing works. This
is not a "fix discord audio" problem like M3tal Daz3 suggests. It seems like Gears 5 is trying to override our default sound settings and its causing mic disconnect issues. We need a real solution! Please!
