    Garbled Xbox party chat - known issue?


    In recent weeks Xbox party chat has been rampant with persistent intermittent garbled audio. Most of my friends refer to it has “robot voice.”

    Typically only one member of the party will have this issue while others do not.


    • quitting/rejoining party, doesn’t fix it.


    • quitting/starting new party, doesn’t fix it.


    • logging out and back in, doesn’t fix it.


    • changing party lead, doesn’t fix it.


    • restarting Xbox, doesn’t fix it.


    • happens to users independent of their headset situation. Neither brand nor wired/wireless makes any impact.

    It randomly occurs and randomly returns and randomly stops without a discernible pattern nor a definitive fix. I can only say…it makes party chat unusable.

    Is this a known issue?

    agreed with all points. Audio is not good. In game chat is garbled. party chat doesnt even light up the talking party. and the MUSIC is pretty loud and not adjustable. I'm not using 5.1, mine are just stereo but have been ace on every other
    game.

    yep... same here. Multiplayer, people are garbled and sound like Charlie Brown's teacher most of the time. Except if i'm in a party. BUT... in party chat, i cant see which teammate is talking on the HUD/Minimap... their "triangle" doesnt highlight.

    This is a known issue with the new CoD and Xbox I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed yet. I hear that not being in party chat helps.
