  1. Gaming Services on Windows 11 not possible to install

    Hi

I have used MS Flight Simulator for a while, but suddenly it would not start anymore. I have tried different things, but nothing makes it work.

The problem seems to be the Gaming Services process. It is stopped and if I try to start it from Services it says: "Windows could not start the Gaming Services service on Local Computer. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."

Is there any log I can look into?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    :)

Gaming Services on Windows 11 not possible to install

    Hi SonnyshogunNo

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

I do understand the urgency of you wanting to find other ways for this issue of yours in regards with your Gaming Services. We are very glad to help you out to find some of the best possible options and troubleshooting's that we can provide for you.

    Step 1: Restart your computer

Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve issues with system processes. Please try restarting your computer and see if the Gaming Services process starts automatically.

    Step 2: Check for updates

Make sure that your computer is up to date with the latest Windows updates. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on Check for updates. If there are any updates available, install them and restart your computer.

    Step 3: Reinstall Gaming Services

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you can try reinstalling Gaming Services. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "appwiz.cpl" and press Enter to open the Programs and Features window.

    3. Scroll down and locate "Gaming Services" in the list of installed programs.

    4. Right-click on Gaming Services and select Uninstall.

    5. Once the uninstallation is complete, restart your computer.

    6. Download and install the latest version of Gaming Services from the Microsoft Store.

Step 4: Run System File Checker

If the issue persists, you can try running the System File Checker tool to scan for and repair any corrupted system files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.

    2. Type "sfc /scannow" and press Enter.

    3. Wait for the scan to complete. This may take some time.

    4. Once the scan is complete, restart your computer.

Step 5: Reset the Microsoft Store App

    1. On the keyboard on your device, press the "Windows Key Logo + R" keys

    2. Type the command: WSReset.exe and after press "Enter"

    3. A black Window will prompt on your screen

    4. Wait until the prompt disappears and the Store comes up

    5. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your issue. I hope all of this information's are helpful. We look forward on your response.

Gaming Services will not install windows 11

Thank you for the information and I totally understand where you are coming from as I'm a gamer myself.

I have resolved almost a similar issue before, the gamer had decided to reformat the C: Drive where the Windows was installed then proceeds to download the Xbox app/gaming services, and then the game downloads worked normally.

Kindly do the same however before you proceed with your reformat, make sure to back up your files.

Gaming Services will not install windows 11

    Hey George!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, a fellow gamer. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I am here to help.

If I may ask, may I have the exact error message upon attempting to install the gaming services?

In order to fix this, you will need to perform a series of troubleshooting steps. Kindly make sure that your Windows, Device Drviers and Xbox gaming services are all up to date, here's how:

    For Windows:

Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.

On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.

On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available for your device.

Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.

Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.

    For Device Drivers:

For the best game performance, make sure your system’s video card drivers (or display adapter drivers) are up to date. Drivers are available on the support website for your computer manufacturer, or if your computer system is custom built, on the video card manufacturer’s support website. Updating video card drivers can resolve game crashes, improve frame rates, and improve overall game performance.

    For gaming services:

Press the Start button on the taskbar, type store, and open the Microsoft Store app.

    Select Library.

Under Updates & downloads, check if there are any updates available for the Xbox app or Gaming Services app. If an update is available, select Update.

Once you're done, try to check if you will be able to install the gaming services.
