Gaming services broke the xbox app

Gaming services is 'not installed' when it clearly is and as a result all my games that were installed now ask for me to install them. When I click install it prompts me to install gamming services which is already installed. After I click yes to install it it 'installs' and then does nothing and prompts me to install it again.

What would this do to the PC? I don't want to loose any of the files that are on it.

How to Roll Back Windows 10 to a Previous Version of Windows

To go back to a previous version of Windows, do the following:

If your computer is unplugged, make sure you plug it into the wall outlet and click Next.

Click Start and type "recovery".

Select Recovery Options (System Setup).

Under Recovery, select Go Back to Windows [X], where [X] is the previous version of Windows.

Select a reason for the reversal, then click Next.

Click Back to Windows [X].

Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the rollback.

When the rollback is complete, the computer will boot into the previous version of Windows. If you used a password to log in in the previous version of Windows, you will need that password to log in.

Uninstall and reinstall Xbox app

Click start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.
Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.
Type the following command to uninstall Windows Store: Get-AppxPackage xboxapp | Remove-AppxPackage
Hit Enter.
Launch Windows Store again and download Xbox App.

Solution 2: Check for updates for apps and games from Microsoft Store.

Complete all pending window updates.

Run SFC and DISM system scans.

Clear all the temp files and prefetch files from your device.

Uninstall unused or 3rd party apps from your device.

i reseted the Microsoft Store and the gaming services, terminated both, and deleted temporary cache, then restarted.
