    Hi all,

    After trying to install the patch for MSFS2020 (PC) update 14, I am unable to start the flight sim.

    The game on my PC was running fine up until this mandatory update. But, the Xbox X version is running well, and I've managed to update it successfully with the new update 14 (now game is Vs 1.35.xx)

    Each time I click on my MSFS2020 (PC) shortcut it automatically opens the Store app and then the window opens for the Gaming Service.

    There is no physical button to click to install the Gaming Service app (refer screen pics), and therefore the game does NOT open at all.

    Note - I have searched the internet for answers and tried the PowerShell way to reinstall, but with no success.

    All my windows updates are also current and installed.

    Please help as my MSFS2020 game is now useless, and I would appreciate some assistance.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.



    You may try to update Xbox app and launch it. The Gaming Services is related to Xbox app, installation and launching of Xbox app, triggers the notification on the app to install and update Gaming Services.

    Alternatively, if update is not showing on the Xbox app, you may try to use the Gaming Service beta tool - Gaming Services Repair Tool for PC | Xbox Support. To set your expectation, the beta app is testing environment where features that can be improved in the general public released.

    You would need to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 in order to play the game on the PC. They are considered different.

    Some games can be purchased digitally on the either the One or PC and be played on both for free, but not all games work that way. The games that do are Play Anywhere titles and you can find a list of those here.

    Unfortunately it is not one of the Play Anywhere games so you have to buy it for windows and Xbox separately. Or you can get Xbox Game Pass which has Minecraft and a lot more.
    Game Pass wouldn't help in that situation since Minecraft is not Play Anywhere. It would still only work for the console.

    You have to buy a copy of Minecraft for Windows 10 because it doesn't be part of Play Anywhere
