where did all the pc games that are not for on the crappy windows 8 go? i have windows 7 and im not about to upgrade to windows 8 i dont need a windows 8 phone or xbox looking pc

you should check the system requirements of the game and buy a pc with the same or better specs to run it.

I would agree with denis97g that you should check the recommended system requirements for the games you would like to play to get a baseline for the system requirements you would like.

Then form that you can scale up a little if you want to future proof, or scale down a bit to save money.

As mentioned, Toms Hardware are great for hardware reviews to find the best kit at the best price.

 

You could in theory throw more than required resources at a game but it usually won't improve anything beyond a certain point. Typically people look for the minimum system requirements. But if you have no budget, I would say throw a $10,000 workstation
at the game and have a blast.

 

Same as denis97g but also most of the time you can go into your local pc store and have a chat with the guy explain what you want and they will help you make the right choice.
