Gaming on surface studio laptop lagging after downloading NVDIA driver update

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues playing Fortnite after updating your Nvidia drivers. Updating drivers may change the default settings of some of the games.

You mentioned that everything became high definition. Kindly check if your resolution became higher or any of your settings was configured to "High". If nothing changes, there's a chance that your settings is being overridden by your Nvidia control panel.

Right-click on your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.

Click Manage 3D Settings.

In the upper-right corner, click Restore Defaults.

Ok, I fixed it. It turns out that the problem was from my PC not the controller. I connected from my laptop then update the driver, after that I singed in from my PC using my laptop account, downloaded Xbox accessorise and it worked!

Same issue here. I ordered the new surface laptop studio and the new slim pen 2. They came from 2 different trackings. My pen arrived on time, but the computer never have any updates. They came from exactly the same place, and they were scanned together, but one is delivered, another one is lost. System shows reschedule for delivery. But no more updates after it. I highly suspect a GLS employee stole my computer.

No problem, I'll teach you how to update your graphic card:

Go to Start (or press the Windows key on your keyboard) > Enter Device Manager in the search box and select it.

In the list of hardware categories click on Display adapters, and then double-tap or double-click the video card name.

Click the Driver tab > Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.

If that does not fix the issue, please reinstall the display adapter drivers:
Download the latest graphic card driver from the Manufacturer website. If it's a laptop, you can go to your laptop Manufacturer website and search for the latest version of the driver of your graphic card.

On the hardware list of the Device Manager, Right-click on the Display adapter that is listed and click “Uninstall”. (Just uninstall it after you have downloaded your correct graphic card driver).

Restart Windows and Install the driver you downloaded.

I've noticed on my end that sometimes drivers are the issue. When I first tried streaming, I'd have no imput lag at all except for once every few minutes the stream will become garbled and lag really bad for about 5 seconds, then go back to normal. I originally
solved it by reinstalling my wifi drivers. Now, after an update, I'm starting to get a similar sort of lag every few minutes, although not as bad. Not really garbled, just jerky for about 5 seconds at a time. I've tried reverting wifi drivers, but it still
does it, so could be due to something else. Still basically playable, but sometimes the lag spike happens at the worst times! Otherwise, I have NO input lag at all. My xbox is wired and I'm using my laptop connected using wireless AC at 866 mpbs.

Funny thing though, my gaming laptop has two video cards, an Intel one and an Nvidia 860m. When I use my Nvidia one, it runs poorly, with noticeable input lag and the image seems weird; hard to explain. But everything runs perfect while using the Intel
one. So perhaps is less of a connection issue and more of a video driver one sometimes.
