Gamespass PC doesn't detect the controller!!

Hello,

When I'm streaming the game via "Cloud Gaming" the game detects the controller fine but when I download the game on my PC, Gamepass doesn't detect the controller and I have tried everything and still no solution to it. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your reply. I have managed to get it working fine by updating the controller and reassigns the buttons and it worked and didn't open any software. Hopefully this will help someone else.

I have downloaded the Xbox Accessories app but the controller doesn't show up and I'm using a PS4 controller. My steam and DS4 software does detects the controller and my other applications as well as such Gog, Uplay, Epic Launcher, Battle.Net, EA Play, and etc. I don't understand why when playing the game via Clould Gaming it does detects the controller but when downloading the game on the PC the gamepass doesn't detects the controller!

I understand, I just want to confirm, while downloading and streaming games on Xbox Cloud gaming, do you have the platform Steam open in the background?

If so, kindly try to close the Steam app first then proceed to download a game to see if it works.

Steam can sometimes hijack your controller inputs and convert them to their Steam input api for things like custom controller configurations.

Upon further checking, to answer your inquiry from one of the answers in the forums regarding the issue with the Xbox game pass and PS4 controller:

"as the windows system does not natively support the ps4/5 controller you have to use ds4 which is a program that basically disguises the ps4 controller as an xbox controller, some games in gamepass work, some don't, i have a ps4 controller and have used it for all games on every store except gamepass."

It seems Xbox game pass does not support 3rd party system.
