    Games wont install on pc game pass app


    On the pc game pass app I will hit install on a game and it wont install. I have tried many things such as terminate, repair, and resetting the Xbox, Microsoft store, and gaming services. restarting the services sometimes works but is unreliable. I have the latest updates for windows 11 and the Xbox app. Anyone else having these issues?

    You need to install the Game Pass for PC app to install games from Game Pass on your PC.

    When I try to download from microsoft Store, the download never starts. From Xbox.com, I can download the app but the installation never finish, it stalls in the middle...

    I get error (0X80080005) when trying to install the app after a few minutes...

    Also I'm able to install the app on my laptop without any problems

    There is a solution for that issue on this support article - Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox App for Windows. However, most of the steps provided in here has already been performed.

    We would like to ask if you have tried matching your credentials from Windows Store (commonly known as Microsoft Store) and Xbox app?

    Also, did you experience same issue with installing apps/games from Microsoft Store?

    So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

    Suggested troubleshooting:

    Method 1: Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox App for Windows

    Please see and follow the steps on this support article under Problems Installing a game from the Xbox app or you can try the steps on the Specific installation and startup errors if you have seen an error. Skip this if you already perform all the troubleshooting here.

    Method 2:

    Ensure the Xbox app and Microsoft Store have the same credentials.

    Install or update related to Xbox apps from Microsoft Store:

    Xbox Console Companion

    Xbox Identity Provider - Microsoft Store Apps

    Method 3: Run system scans

    Run a full system scan. This will check and restore corrupted system files.



    In Windows search bar, search for Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.

    Copy the command below one line at a time and paste it on Command Prompt:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    SFC /scannow

    Try to launch Xbox app and see if you can install games again.
