Games with Xbox/Microsoft Store license refuse to launch with error code 0x8027025b

Title. Steps already taken:

- repairing Microsoft Store

- updating drivers (unrelated, but did anyway)

- double checking account details

- reinstalling the game (in my case, Forza Horizon 4)

- logging out and back into my MS/Xbox account

I'm running Win11 24H2.

Edit: the game is able to start VERY RARELY, with seemingly no pattern. Every other game I have on Steam/EA/Epic can be launched without any issues.

Hey boy7next7door, sorry you're dealing with this annoying installation problem. I understand how disruptive that can be.

It sounds like you’ve already tried a lot, but since the game only launches occasionally, it could be an issue with permissions or system settings. First, try running the game as Administrator and make sure all your Windows updates are installed. It might also help to reset the Microsoft Store app (Settings > Apps > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset).

If that doesn't work, try running a system scan by typing sfc /scannow in the Command Prompt (running as admin) to check for any file corruption. Lastly, try reinstalling Xbox Gaming Services through the Microsoft Store.

Another test that I've seen help is to creating a new (local) Windows user profile on the PC, and trying to install/launch from there.

Since other games are working fine, it might just be something conflicting in the background.

Hopefully, one of these steps gets it sorted!

Launch the Microsoft Store app, then search for the outer Wilds. When the page loads, select install (if you own it). It should then start to install. The download is currently spouting an error code, but that could be an issue on Microsoft's end, or it could be a mistake that the game is on the PC store, hence why the error code shows up.

Forza cannot be opened anymore (the error popup window redirects to the ms-store which forza cannot be opened from either), and the xbox launcher won't launch. Microsoft Store looking for updates runs forever.

UPDATE:
I reinstalled Xbox GameServices and now the game starts again with the error code 0x12c as before

Alright so I've tried the following:

- DISM and the commands you suggested I entered.

- SFC and the commands you suggested I entered.

- Repaired the Microsoft store, and the games that do not work. None of my games worked prior to this or after this.

- Tried signing in under one account for both the microsoft store and the xbox app.

- Tried launching the games in both the microsoft and xbox app. None worked.

Even after doing all this none of my games work. I can't seem to launch any of them because they all bring up this file system error code about 3 minutes after launching: "file system error (-2015291336)"

Please use the Microsoft Gaming Repair Tool for Xbox App, this tool detects and automatically repairs error found on your system. Please download and install it using this link then run it as administrator.

Once done, open the Xbox app, navigate to Forza Horizon 4, click the three dots next to it, select "Manage", then go to the "Files" tab and click "Verify and Repair"
