    Games with Gold unavailable to play after upgrading to Game Pass Ultimate


    I'm trying to play the game Superhot on my Xbox but when I boot up the game it says that I have to buy the game because i don't have access to it since it was bought with Games with Gold.

    I bought the game a long time ago when it was a free game of the month on Games with Gold. Since then I have upgraded to Game Pass Ultimate and when I tried to play it for the first time in a while it wont let me, because I don't have Xbox Live Gold anymore.

    However, this shouldn't be the case because Ultimate should have all the benefits of Gold (as advertised).

    Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

    did you upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate after getting the code for 12 months Live Gold?

    if you upgrade it will say that the Live Gold is cancelled.

    if you did upgrade, check that your Game Pass Ultimate is active.

    if it is active then everything is working as it should be and you will still have all the features of Live Gold, but they will be under your Game Pass Ultimate subscription instead.

    Do you have standard Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate? Gold is needed to play online. Gold is included with Game Pass Ultimate, but not standard Game Pass. So if you only have Game Pass, you either need to add Gold or upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate.

    Do you have Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate? You need Gold to play online. Game Pass Ultimate includes Gold, but standard Game Pass does not. So if you only have standard Game Pass you would either need to upgrade to Ultimate or also buy a Gold subscription.

    That means your gold was upgraded to Ultimate (Ultimate includes Gold, Game Pass for Xbox, and Game Pass for PC)

    Convert Gold to Game Pass Ultimate again

    That conversion rate is only for after you already have Ultimate on your account and are adding a standard gold/game pass to Ultimate. If you have a standard gold or game pass subscription and are adding Ultimate to that, it converts at a rate of 1:1 whether
    you've previously upgraded or not.
