    Only play anywhere titles can be played on PC. Unfortunately that game won't work since it's not on the list.

    You don't need Gold to play online on Windows 10 PC, this applies only to Xbox Anywhere games purchased from the Store or claimed through a Game pass subscription for PC. Xbox console does require the subscription.

    Home gold sharing only applies for the xbox systems. So to play on pc you would indeed have to be signed into his account to get the game free.
