Games will download but not install

I purchased GoW 4 and have been able to download, but it will not install. No details are provided when I click the "see details" tab. we also purchased a smaller Floaties game just to check, and it would not install either.

This is a new SkyTech Gaming - Ryzen and GTX 1050 Ti--Ryzen 1200 3, 3.1 GHz Quad-core, GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, 8GB DDR4 2400, 1TB HDD, 24 X DVD, Windows 10 Home 64 bit, Wi-Fi.

I am logged in to X box live as well

I did the run command reset and we do have the 12 diagnostic

I am not very computer literate but follow directions well. I haven't found an answer that has worked yet. ANY help would be appreciated

Disappointed

its not 100% but your not downloading games if your on disk... your installing and its in no way 2 hours... if your talking about a game with massive updates(neverwinter) maybe 2 hours to download and install every update since launch...

i didn't know either so dont feel lost...

i just know when i downloaded it i started it up with no re direct or saying i needed an update...

this may be different with the disk as it would have been written pre the change... which would require a patch after install.

i think with the xblive/download it would be packaged in with the install. which may be the case.. i cant recall a time with 360 free games i had to install/download a game than get updates and such... but idk really.

try to sign out of account, then do a full computer shut down, then turn back on , sign into account, then start the xbox live app, now try to start game.

You can't play a disc game while installing another disc game

But you can play a disc game while another is downloading, play a download while installing a disc or play a download while installing another download.

I can understand that part. but an install is pretty much the entire game except the disk is required. most of my games will start up. the disk is still good enough. if I were to borrow a friends game and install it I can still use my scratched game to play.
I wouldn't mind if I still need the disk because all the Xbox needs to play an installed game is to recognize the disk

games on demand is not the same as disks

you can install the game but you have to have the dvd inside the Drtive to play it

or purchase the games on demand version

if they do what you suggest that would invite piracy

that is why the DISK is still required

Yes, you can borrow a friends and then used a damaged disc for recognition. Just be careful, you don't want the disc to further break and damage your console.

I do this Two Worlds II. My disc has the infamous circle scratch/burn, but it still plays because I had it installed.

It runs into the occasional disc read error, but works for the most part.
