  1. Games updates seem to be much bigger than my friends

Hello, I'm actually here to report two issues. The first issue is that whenever I get an update, my xbox never seems to update it, the percentage stays at 0. The second is that when I restart my xbox, the update i get is huge (for example two weeks ago i received a Smite update of 25 GB while my friends all received one of around 20MB) i am confused why this is happening. It's really annoying because an update that's meant to take 5 minutes ends up taking 3 hours for me.

That update is bigger than some games. Yikes! I wonder why game updates are so big now when they seemed so miniscule on the 360. It's not like the games are that much bigger...yet.

Why are my updates so much bigger than my friends?

    Hello pxrstx,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

There could be several reasons why your update is significantly larger than your friend's. One possibility is that you have additional content or DLC installed for the game, which requires a larger update. Another possibility is that your Xbox may have missed previous updates, causing the current update to be larger.

Try clearing your Xbox's cache by holding down the power button for 10 seconds until it turns off, unplugging the power cord, waiting for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on. You can also try manually checking for updates by going to "My games & apps" > "Updates" and selecting "Check for updates." Then, restart console.

If the issue persists on all games, please let us know the following details:

    1. Are you part of Xbox Insider?
    2. Do you have DLC for all of your games?

If you have other clarifications about this matter, you can get back to us by replying to this post.

    Sincerely,

Why are my updates so much bigger than my friends?

Hi X7GHOST, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

X7GHOST, this only happens when previously installed game files get corrupted, so when the update is released by the developer, the developer needs to replace those corrupted files in order to guarantee the stability of the game and the new update.

Please note that this is only a public forum, I will respond to you in a short period of time within the possible apologizing in advance for any delay in response. I am simply a user trying to provide information and knowledge that may be useful to others, I am not an employee of Microsoft.

    3.8GB?

"Why don't they do this for more games?".

    .

Cost would be my guess. Games with several disks are somewhat fair, I suppose, but some games are much bigger than they seem to be.

    .

Firstly, why is RAGE 22GB? That seems ridiculous for anything to me. Secondly, I would love for bigger harddrives... I was using a 60 until yesterday when I was given someone's old 120 which is much more useful.
