    To be honest, Gold subscription not only lets you play multiplayer games, but you can also get free games with it. I personally think that paying to play online is more secure

    Xbox live should be free. Paying for multiplayer is not worth it. We want free multiplayer access over Xbox consoles
    If paying a negligible fee for multiplayer isn't worth it to you (and the "we" you apparently represent,) then multiplayer isn't worth it in general. If you don't want to pay anything, just stick to the many free-to-play games available, including free multiplayer.

    Maybe also consider that you're getting a $1500 console for $500. A part of these online service fees is a way for console manufacturers to recoup some of that money.

    You'll need Xbox Live to play any online multiplayer games..........even "free to play" games. Although the game may need free, what you're paying for is there online service for the Xbox. Online service is not free.

    xbox has a great service with the membership gold. Is not only play multiplayer games, you can access to deals, games free. also other companies have a online suscription to play, so why xbox should de be free?
