Games Requiring Personal Information?

Not much they can do, all third party games are run and controlled by the devs/publishers of that game, all third party game servers are run and paid for by those devs/publishers, microsoft have no access to those servers therefore you need to have an account to log into those servers to play, acount linking does not really share any personal data, it just links your microsoft account to say an ea account or ubisoft account, whatever information they have on you they will get from the account you have already made with them.

as microsoft now own even more games studios then in the near future you will be required to have a microsoft account to access those games.

I fully share your view while I also love buying games from Microsoft Store. However I have realized the best way is sadly to use Steam (and possibly other sellers) as they do not require your full name and phone number, nor other personal information like address. Until Microsoft lets us choose what we want to share I choose to not use Microsoft Store anymore, I will probably also stop using Xbox in the near future as Xbox also automatically share your personal information.
