games reinstalling/reupgrading

I have a series X. No external drive. I installed, and upgraded, lego skywalker saga and played for a good while with my kid. Then i installed master chief collection, updated and played thru all of 1, 2, and most of 3. Played the lego game in between halos. Mostly offline. Put the lego game back in and its like i never put it in to begin with, said installing again. Went online to update elden ring and now its forcing an upgrade to lego (that i already did to begin with) and i cant play MCC because it says i need to update (80gig). My only internet access is phone hotspots so that update isnt happening, as i have terrible signal to begin with.

I have 321.4GB internal storage still free, console itself has the current update. I have cleared the bluray persistent storage.

Why is the console making me redo the lego game? And why wont MCC play anymore?

Hello Brian, as mentioned above if you installed the game directly from disc it is not fully installed and will need updates.

Some games also have big updates almost the size of the game because the kernel needs to be recompiled.

The ideal in these cases would be to connect your console to a network with Wi-Fi and make all the necessary updates, including the system if necessary.

if you install a game from disc, you are asked to update the game while the game is not yet installed. This often causes issues.

So wait with the update until the game instalation is finished.

So I have done it today, I fired it up deleted the cache and deleted the newest update and in the process of reupgrading. Is this a common issue with Xbox 360's?

The one time.upgrade only.but happens once so when you canxel you cancel eled it

Also when you reupgrade for rhe second time you lose due to the 2/3 ratio conversion not thr 1/1 like thenfirst time you shouldve just kept.it

If you mean to reupgrade with more xbox live time to extend the membership

Then no

The upgrade is an onetime thing per account and you will lose the existing time you had

Refund only applies to the month you paid for 1 dollar for and prepaid time that you had before would be lost and NOT refundable
