    I have a new XB One system that is doing duty for a family of four. We have kept our XB 360 as well. When we purchased the new One system, it came with three games, one on disc and two as DL'able codes. I additionally purchased a third game from the XB Store
    and DL'ed it.

    My sons have had no issues logging into their account and playing all of the games. Today, Monday, Dec 29th, neither of them can play any of the games, the disc included, unless they log my account in first, star the game and then go back to their account
    and login into the game.

    What changed overnight that messed this up?

    Purchased a year subscription and now can't play

    I purchased the year subscription to Solitaire and the game now tells me I have to login with the account that downloaded the app. The account I'm using is the only account that has logged onto this computer and is the account that downloaded and purchased
    Solitaire.

    How do I fix this

    The map packs are available to anyone logged into the console they were originally downloaded to.

    You can download the map packs to the other 2 consoles by logging in with your gamertag and getting them from your download history. However, they will only be accessible by the account that originally purchased them. Others will be able to use them only
    if your account is logged into that console.

    USB backward compatibility

    To explain a bit why that won't work:

    The Xbox One doesn't understand the "language" in which the Xbox 360 games are stored on disc or USB. The disc for physical copies is just a "proof of purchase" for the Xbox One, and the actual code for running the game on the Xbox One is downloaded from
    the Xbox Marketplace in a "translated" language the Xbox One can understand.

    If you installed a game from disc on an USB drive, it's missing the "proof of purchase" license the disc would provide.

    If it were a digital download game, it would show up under Ready to Install in your account's Games and Apps, and you could simply download it for free, as the "proof of purchase" for a digital download game is stored in your account.

    However without a disc, there is no proof of purchase, and you can't install the game on the Xbox One.

    The basic reason that you would get that message is that their is no license for that game on that console which means 1 of 3 things:

    If the game was bought digitally

    1. You are trying to play on an account that did not purchase the game or if you did purchase the game with that account it was refunded back for some reason or another. What i would do is check online at account.live.com and look at your purchase history
    to make sure that you were not refunded it for some reason or another.

    2. An account that did purchase the game at one point was on the console and downloaded the game to that console and did not set that console as that accounts home console so other profiles on that console could then play their digital games.

    If it was a disc game.

    3. The license for the game goes with the disc itself so the disc would have to be in the console in order to play the game.
    This is happening to me with SSX3. I downloaded it under my profile. As soon as it was done downloading I attempted to start it and got the “Do you own this game or app” message. Well, yes I do, I just now bought it! I have been trying to start it up ever
    since I purchased it, under my own account, nobody else is logged in, I am the primary account, and it’s not working. This is ****.

    Hi GJ.

    No it doesn't mean that the games will be lost. If the games were purchased under his account when he signs it they will show up under ready to install.

    As long as you're signed on under the primary account where the games were purchased through.
    It will require to re-download the games and apps, without a prompt to purchase the games again.

    Check in your download history on the Xbox360. Go to settings - account - download history, scroll down to the game, and start the download. Also make sure you are logged in with the account that was used to purchase it. If it doesn't show in your download
    history, then you may have purchased the game on disc. If so, then you will have to either find the disc or purchase the game again to play it.
