Games not installing and/or running properly when installing on Xbox Game Pass for PC on...

I can't promise this will work, but you can please try the following fixes.

Reset the Windows Store with the WSReset command

• Go to the Windows Search bar near your Start button. Type WSReset.
• Right click on WSReset run command that Windows has found and click ‘Run as Administrator’
• Wait for the process to complete
• Restart your computer

Try reinstalling gaming services. To do this:

• Right click on the Windows 10 Start button, from the menu select PowerShell (Admin)
• Copy and paste the following command (in bold):get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
• In the same powershell window copy and paste the following command (in Bold):
  start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
• Install the app on the page, including accepting the UAC prompt when shown.
• Reboot and try running your games again.

Just did 2 Clean installs of Windows 10 1909.

The first install i did all windows updates/Driver updates then installed xbox pc beta game pass then installed 2 games and then attempted to install dragon center from MSI. it installed and then failed to run with the same errors i was getting before.

The second install i installed driver updates and then installed Dragon Center. Configured the system with Dragon Center. Then installed all windows updates, Xbox pc beta game pass and then installed a game and played. Dragon center still worked after playing
the game. once i restarted the computer dragon center was broken with the same errors as before. Something is breaking the program in the xbox pc game pass install.

Unfortunately, there is no way to select the path where the files will be saved, as they are encrypted files that are saved in the same place, unlike steam and other launchers that have their subfolders with the names of games and executables.

The only thing you can do is select which external or internal hard drive the games will be installed on, to do this follow the instructions below.

Open Xbox Game Pass PC app.

Click on your profile icon on the top right of the corner.

Go to Settings.

Click on General from the left menu.

Under the drive selection tab, hit “Change where this app installs games by default“.

Choose the drive you want your games to be installed in.

Where does Xbox Game Pass install games?

The default install directory for the games is the WindowsApps folder. Alongside many other Windows 10 applications, the games you download from Game Pass are also stored in this file. You must have administrator permissions if you want to gain access to it though.

In fact, even you manage to open the folder you will not be able to run or locate the game files in it. They are encrypted by Windows during installation and they can only be run from the Game Pass app. So running the game from .exe is not possible when it comes to the desktop application.

When you install Game Pass, all eligible titles are flagged as game pass, sometimes when you cancel game pass, these flags are not removed properly.
