Games launched from the xbox app do not use my dedicated Nvidia gpu (pc)

Hello, as the title says i'm having a problem when i launch any game installed through the xbox app (i'm using pc gamepass ), for example when i launch age of empires 4 the game runs at 20 fps because its using the integrated gpu.

- i have 2 gpus in my pc (gtx 1060 and 1070) and it can't detect both of them

- other games that are not xbox related like fortnite works fine

- i tried limiting the xbox app and age of empires 4 to only use one gpu in windows 10 settings but it doesn't work

That's a very strange configuration. Why do you have a GTX1060 and a 1070? They can't work together.

Do you have the monitor or TV plugged in to one of these graphics cards or into the motherboard?

Run the DirectX diagnostic tool from within Windows. Hold down the Windows key and tap R on the keyboard to bring up the run command. Type Dxdiag into the run box and press enter.

Please post screenshots of what your actual PC configuration is please. Especially the tab/s labelled Display

settings - gaming - graphics look for custom options for apps - find the app you want to alter or add it to the list - select the app in the list - select options - select high performance (which will be your gpu), this will stop the game using your low powered integrated graphics.

above is for windows 11 but similar on windows 10 too.

Thank you for sharing this information. Since your GPU usage is 0% when you play Game Pass games, I'm almost sure that they are not using the RTX 3090 to process the games.

Would you please follow the steps on the website below to try to force the Xbox app and your installed games to use your dedicated Nvidia GPU?

Do you mean that your device is not detecting the dedicated GPU when playing PC game pass games? I am happy to help with this issue and see if we can solve your problem. have you downloaded the GeForce now app? have you configured your surface book to use your dedicated GPU in the Nvidia control panel? What OS are you currently on to provide some tips for Windows 10 or 11.
