Games from Microsoft store / gamepass crash to desktop

Hello,

Have 4 computers in my house and trying to play multiplayer games with my 3 kids. When playing multiplayer, games seem to randomly crash to the desktop without any warning or error code. Also seems totally random which computer this will happen to. Doesn't crash them all at once, usually just 1 or 2 at a time.

Games I have tried - Sea of Thieves, Broforce, and Minecraft Dungeons. Minecraft Dungeons is owned, Sea of Thieves and Broforce are being played with Gamepass.

All 4 computers are newer, updated and more than capable of running these games. They don't seem to crash when playing solo.

All 4 computers are hardwired, no wi-fi. All cabling is Cat5e on a 1.0 Gbps network.

Any thoughts?

Hello, thanks for the response.

To go down the list in the link -

1 - Exit and restart game - have tried this, doesn't help.

2 - Restart your device - same as #1.

3 - Check for Updates - All are up to date but haven't done the 20H2 thing yet.

4 - Check system requirements - All computers are capable of playing the games.

5 - Check network connectivity - Network is fine. All computers hardwired to a 1.0 GBS network.

6 - Sign in as a different user - We are signed onto 4 different computers as 4 different users. 4 different Xbox accounts. All 4 computers are signed into the Microsoft store with my account but I have tried logging out on all computers.

7 - Repair or reinstall - Have tried this, doesn't help. I actually bought Minecraft Dungeons to see if it would make a difference versus playing it via game pass. Uninstalled on all 4 computers, bought game, reinstalled. Same problem.

8 - Check for bans - Nope.

I personally think it has something to do with the Microsoft store and / or Xbox service. 3 of us were playing Broforce tonight and we probably had 10 (maybe more) drops in 30 minutes of play time. Gave up on that and we jumped on Rocket League for a bit with ZERO issues.

Have been considering buying 4 copies of something on Steam to see if I have the same issues, waiting for a sale on something good. I really like the idea (and cost effectiveness) of the game pass but not sure it's worth the frustration at this point.

Try downloading Minecraft Launcher on ONLY MICROSOFT STORE on your friend's or family member windows desktop/laptop using your account. 2nd Sign in the account that you own the gamepass to the minecraft java. The game will verify that you own the gamepass then you're processed when it says "play with gamepass" than the demo version. Final step is to download minecraft launcher on your MacOS from minecraft(dot)net/download then download the MacOS version and after downloaded you sign in with gamepass account then you're done.

I'm saying to download from MS store on your friend's or family's windows pc is because the MS store version will actually validate your gamepass than the minecraft.net version. After you've validate on your windows you can go to your Mac and download from minecraft.net/download for macOS then sign in the account that you own the gamepass.

I disabled game bar from the settings because I heard that he is bad. does it make any difference if I enable it?
also yeah I can download it from microsoft store it's just that microsoft store is worse in terms of download than xbox app that is why I'm using xbox app instead of microsoft store I will try to download the game from microsoft store and see if the problem happens there also I can open the game from desktop if the problem doesn't happen to me but when it happen I can't open the game from : desktop , xbox app , microsoft store
and I don't have any antivirus or firewall I only use windows defender

I don't have XBox... only a PC (i.e. launched from my PC's desktop).

Game with update (August 2022) should (obliged to) work without a crash when launched from the desktop.
