Games for windows Marketplace not showing my game key

Just got a new computer download Games for windows Marketplace client downloaded gears of war pc now i need to activate it the last time i installed it the activation key was already entered in for me but not this time. i click on the game in the client
and on the drop option to show game key and says unknown error has occurred

error in cd key for GTA 4 Game for windows live

I have got an error in the game for windows live application while playing gta4. the application does not accept my cd key. however, the game was purchased is genuine via Amazon marketplace. moreover, I had activated the game using the same key. Running
windows 8.1 pro. invoice,dxdiag,msinfo, have been attached. please help

I thankfully had a document created long ago with my keys but I am in the same boat. The marketplace shows no serial keys and instead says: "An unknown error has occurred" for both Game Activation keys and Live Access Codes.
