    Exception of type 'Microsoft.GamesForWindows.XLiveServices.LiveIdWrapper.IDCRLException' was thrown.

    I downloaded GFWL on xbox.com, therefore it should be the most up to date yet it isn't because the executable still uses accountservices.passport.net

    The password is correct as is the username as I changed it days ago following this issue. Trying to play Flatout UC with a local account doesn't work because it resets each time the game starts which, with a broken neck and back, isn't fun to have to start
    from scratch with crap vehicles. I was able to login with one account, but it was the wrong one so I tried another and I couldn't log in. I couldn't log back in with the first account either.

    This needs to be fixed in addition to setting my account with my gamer-tag, which was stolen from me, which is the name I have used since the 80s and is trademarked and registered as my business name in the United States.

    The gold subscription is still active, when i check the friends list of my silver account i see my account still has the gold label. I can't log onto xbox.com with my gold account because i can't remember my windows live id or password because i've had this
    account for years. so i can't check that site because i need to log in on my gold accounts windows live id to see my billing information

    That is good advice. When I get access back to my account I'll change my ID to a another email. Step 1 is to get my account back.

    I can't agree more with your last statement. My account was "almost" restored to me a couple of weeks after I reported. But the Windows Live ID wasn't reverted back to me, it still had the other person's Live ID attached to my Gamertag.

    When I was talking to the phone representive, he thinks that when I performed the password reset as requested in the email sent by the UA team, it was actually sent to the guy who stole my account since the Windows Live ID hadn't been changed back yet. So
    he had to lock my account back down and reissue another ticket. At least, I think that's what happened. All I know is that when I tried to log back in this "GallantBore" was still my gamertag.

    It frustrating that I haven't been able to get any kind of update as of yet.

    That was 4 weeks ago.

    I was actually trying to create a new Xbox Live account using my old gamertag, since the old Xbox live account had been purged due to inactivity. I've since spoken to some Microsoft account reps, and they found that my old gamertag is somewhat of an anomaly
    and are working to fix the problem.

    I can still play all of my games associated with that gamertag on my Xbox360, but I can't play some of my PC games that use Games for Windows Live and the same gamertag. It's not a huge inconvenience, but it just stinks that my Live account got deleted
    and the old gamertag won't allow me to create a new Live account using that tag.

    Yes, I can do that.

    I have an Xbox Live Account, an Xbox Live Gamertag, a Windows Live ID, and a Windows Live Password.

    I log into the Xbox Live Account from the PC using my Windows Live ID and Windows Live Password and am able to see the Xbox Live Gamertag on my Xbox Live Account.

    I then get on my Xbox 360 and click my Xbox Profile.

    I then click "Join Xbox Live". It then asks for a "First Name".

    I shorten my Xbox Live Gamertag and enter it in the First Name area.

    It then asks me for my Windows Live ID. I enter my Windows Live ID.

    It then asks me for my Windows Live Password. I enter my Windows Live Password.

    It then tells me that the Xbox Live Gamertag I entered is not associated with the Windows Live ID I entered, and that I should enter a different Windows Live ID and Windows Live Password.

    Thus, Xbox is confused.

    I know the Windows Live Password I entered is correct, because I can log on with it on the PC.

    I know the Windows Live ID is associated with the Xbox Live Gamertag because they're both connected on my Xbox Live Account.

    It's very odd, yet somehow funny, to be called Wobbly...

    I concur. I also have an issue with the wrong gamertag being associated with my Windows 8 games. I thought it was asking for my windows 8 log on not my Xbox live log on. Is there seriously no way to reset this? Linux is looking more and more appealing
    with each new bit of info I learn about what Windows CAN'T do...

    Xbox Live is completely down, not just affecting certain games but all games and any attempts to log into my account has failed. And the Xbox Live Status website is broken.
