Games crash on launch or shortly after launch from Xbox app on PC

This problem just started 2-3 days ago. Before they I hadn't had any issues launching any games from the Xbox app on PC. I'll describe the issues with the two games I've tried the most (Payday 3 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre).

The game will successfully launch the first time on a fresh install for Payday 3. One of 4 times I got to the proper login page and was able to get into the game. The other 3 times it gave me the error "Xbox Live Gold not signed in." I have a screenshot but it's failing to upload. Every other time after a fresh install, the game does not even make it to this screen. Sometimes it takes the game a while to start launching, sometimes the gaming services splash screen (not full screen) will sit there initializing forever (I've waited 10+ minutes multiple times before ending task). Usually it will make it into the game, show various logos and then crash after the UE4 logo. It does not give me any error. Sometimes it at least tells me the game crashed if I launched it as admin, but it's a generic crash message. Rarely I have seen an error message. I forget the code but I think a search said missing or corrupt content. The only thing that has worked is a fresh install, but again that only works once and doesn't let me sign into the game (which is required to play.

I have been playing Texas Chainsaw Massacre with zero issues for about a month. 2-3 days ago it stopped launching. The game won't even launch; I get the gaming services splash screen initializing the game, the anti-cheat splash screen, and then the game crashes before it goes full screen.

Some but not all of the steps I have tried to troubleshoot:

Run as admin

Update graphics drivers

Ensure Xbox app and Store have the same account signed in

Check for windows updates

Try the gaming services repair tool

Uninstall and reinstall Xbox app

Uninstall and reinstall the game

End task on explorer.exe after game starts (anecdotal "fix" that apparently worked for some people)

Delete MS store cache

Verify and repair game files

Repair and reset game from windows

None of these steps seemed to do anything. Was there a recent update that messed things up?

I can try again to include screenshots, but I don't think they are very helpful.

EDIT: This isn't every game. Some games appear to launch and run without issue.

Also having trouble launching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Xbox GamePass for PC. I have also tried all the steps listed above. It seems that when i reinstall the game the normal popup that appears when a game is launched for the first time that has you link the game to your gamepass account is not popping up so after a few seconds the game just fails to load and closes with no error code.

So I tried a number of additional troubleshooting steps from various sources. SFC scan, some command line instructions that I think were uninstalling/reinstalling services, making sure certain Xbox gaming services were set to automatic and not manual. None of it worked.

However, from some of these steps I thought it might be some sort of issue with the gaming services. What I did was start one of the games that works and leave it running. I would then start up Payday 3 and I would make it past the menu into the game. From here the results are mixed. I haven't tried this often enough or long enough to get great data, but closing the first, working game seemed to cause Payday 3 to crash shortly after. I tried keeping the first game open and was able to play for a bit. However, Payday 3 crashed when a "big" event occurred. I'm not sure if that was coincidence or not. I tried relaunching Payday 3 after this, with the other game still open, and it did not work. Again, I haven't tried enough to verify this suspicion, but I may need to launch Payday 3 shortly after launching another game for it to be successful.

I know some of this data is circumstantial, but hopefully it's a bit more helpful to diagnose the problem. I'll update this after trying to play it a little more and see if I can make it longer into a match.

EDIT: I had the game sitting on the menu while I typed this up. When I clicked matchmaking it instantly crashed. I tried to launch Payday 3 three times after this and ran into the original problem. After closing and re-launching the working game I was able to get into Payday 3. I suspect this will only last so long, as usual.

Another note: I sometimes get Error code: (0x8007139f). This error usually only shows once and then without any special action by myself, it does not show up when I try to launch again.

Same problem here regarding texas. Played on and off without a hitch until downloading the most recent update and having the same problem of nothing after the splash screens
