Hello. My gamertag has been "" for around 6 years now and all of the sudden it has been changed to "FluffyFoal93084". Apparently Xbox changed it because they found the word "Midget" offensive. I submitted a case review in which I said: "My
xbox gamertag has been "" for around 6 years now. The word "Midget" in my username is NOT the offensive noun to describe little people. "Midget" in my username is the adjective meaning very small. If you do not believe me, you can look up the definition
of midget. It is an adjective that means extremely small. The "Midget" in my gamertag is clearly the adjective. The derogatory noun wouldn't make any sense. I would never use hate speech in my gamertag."

The next morning I woke up to see that the decision was upheld. Their rebuttal was "Even if the Gamertag wasn't intended to offend others, we consider how it is most likely perceived by the community."

As I said before, my name has been "" for about 6 years. I have NEVER had any complaint regarding my gamertag until now. So how on earth is my gamertag most likely perceived negative by the community? One complaint over 6 years? That proves my
point that my name is not offensive to the community. Nearly nobody perceived the "midget" in my gamertag as the derogatory term.

Having two nouns placed next to each other in my gamertag would not make any sense. The "Midget" in my gamertag describes the "Toast" thus proving that it's an adjective. Over 99.99% of people who have read my gamertag are aware of this. I don't understand
why I should lose my gamertag because one guy has poor reading comprehension. The only thing Xbox is achieving by changing my name is pissing me off.

Is there any possible way to get my old gamertag back? I believe that I read somewhere that I cannot submit another case review on the same topic. Is there anyway I can get around this? I no longer want to play xbox if I cannot be named ""

I'm trying to change my classic gamertag which is the one you see in games. My classic gamertag got changed and my Xbox One and Xbox App gamertag stayed the same (the Xbox One gamertag is the ones they added with the new gamertag system).

My Xbox One gamertag is different to my in-game gamertag and I want my classic gamertag to be changed. You can only change your classic gamertag on the Xbox One console, I have tried using the other ways and you can only change your Xbox Gamertag, not your
classic gamertag.

The reason I want to change my classic gamertag is that the classic gamertag can be fifteen characters and the Xbox One gamertag can only be 12 characters. If I use the other ways to change my gamertag it limits me to 12 characters and sets both my gamertags
to that.

I received a forced Gamertag change. Can XBLPET let me choose a new Gamertag for free?
Some rumors give the impression that XBLPET will provide a free Gamertag change to accounts that have received a forced Gamertag change. This is not the case.

In the past, a forced Gamertag change gave users the opportunity to change the offending Gamertag free of charge. Unfortunately, this gesture was prone to abuse, and many people simply chose new, equally offensive Gamertags. As a result,
the Gamertag enforcement process changed. A forced Gamertag change now automatically assigns a new Gamertag to the account, much in the same way a system-generated Gamertag is provided when you first sign up for Xbox Live.

If a player is unhappy with the assigned Gamertag and wishes to change it, he or she may purchase a new Gamertag through the

standard Gamertag change process.

The double gamertag is by design, as they transition over to the new gamertag system. Not all games will display the new gamertag system and as stated, your old gamertag will be displayed on 360 backwards compatible games. Any gamertag you create yourself,
is a custom gamertag.

These are the steps in order to change your gamertag.

1 On your console, sign in using the Xbox LIVE gamertag

2 Go to Social, and then select your gamertag.

3 Select Change Gamertag.

4 Select Enter New Gamertag.

Once you enter or select a new gamertag, select Yes, use this gamertag.

The gamertag system doesnt recognize things such as spaces or capitalizations in gamertag as making it unique. For example the gamertag system would look at "Gamertag" and "GaMeR TaG" as being the same.

In this case the gamertag "BierBuikBarry" is already in use as the gamertag "BierBuik Barry" with a space which is why it says "BierBuikBarry" is already taken. You would have to wait for "BierBuik Barry" to be inactive on all Microsoft services with that
gamertag for 5 years (starting in 2016) for the gamertag "BierBuik Barry" to be reset which would in turn free up the gamertag "BierBuikBarry" to be used. That would be the only way to get that gamertag.
