Gamertag Troubles

Hello! About 3 years ago, on 5th April 2015 I created a PSN account Crobyte, and I loved the name so much I basically created it on everything. I didn't have an Xbox then so I created it using the website. Fast track to now and I have a snazzy Xbox One X
and super excited to get going.

For some reason when I tried to input my email that I know I signed in with (same username in email format), it gave me a brand new account. Confused I searched up my original gamertag and it was still there.

I've chatted with support via text and phone and they are unable to even pull up the account on their side, yet I have all the information I created the account with.

Could someone shed some light on my predicament? Is there anything I could do?

if the system says it's taken it's taken there is no buts aboutnit

There is only one way to check

Try ans change your name to it if it says good to go you are food to go

I think you don't get what's it's telling you

In order to find a "friend " you need exact spelling so gamertag is not the same as Gamertag or Gamer TAg this is due to player privacy

You get the point

Anyways because there is any millions different combines you aren't going to find a friend with that exact spellong

But when you try and take the name and it says no its taken it

It doesn't take into account t spaces or caps

So that's why you are getting denied

Creating a new account to make my new main, and whenever I go to make my desired gamertag, it shows up as not available (like it's taken). However when I go to search for this desired gamertag, it shows that it is not taken and it's 'unable to find a match'.
Confusing.

 

Is the account under an Microsoft owned domain email Hotmail,outlook. If so try to login or reset password to check for anything. But if it was under any other email for example Yahoo,Gmail, and AOL I'm not sure its possible to update e-mails. Or maybe
your account was outdated and you needed to make a new account. Not completely sure.

 

You can try recovering the account using this
troubleshooter.

However if you have already tried to recover it with chat support they would have been the next step. If that does not work the GT could be released after 5 years of inactivity (starting from 2016).

 

When talking with support you gave them the gamertag and they were not able to find it with that information?

Did you put a phone number on the account sometimes they can look it up with that or even a credit card number they can search by and it will pull any account up with that credit card actively on it.
