Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

There can sometimes be a slight delay in seeing your new gamertag change but if you follow the steps provided by 'XBA {Parity}' to power cycle your console that should help sort it out. If that doesn't fix the issue you could also try removing your profile
from the console and downloading it again as that can usually help fix this issue. One more thing I would try if the above methods fail is to restart your Modem/router. Hope these suggestions work for you and if there is anything else you need to know don't
