Gamertag refresh(thought it was every 5 years of inactivity…)

My engineer, You have been a great part of my life making my gaming experience smooth as a whistle, and I’m here bash your balls some more. I’ve been doing some research and apparently as we all know there was a gamertag reset in 2016! But there are still some sweet names( not including a suffix such as #3433 at the end of the name monster) that appear to be inactive for (if not more) than 5 years! If another sweep on the isle is possible, now’s the time! Also Halo infinite is right around the corner, and I’m sure we could all use some more mojo while playing the game!! You guys get a more thorough look at the tags that are not being used, and let’s roll out an update just like 2016 for those users, and a whole community of people just like you and I will bow before the Xbox engineering crew! Another recycle on inactive gamertags would be delightful for all who want a cool name, the gamertag “King” has been inactive for god knows how long.. Sincerely, JRod

In that case, the policy itself must change! To separate Xbox from other services of Microsoft is the next step for another recycle! That is my suggestion, and I do bid the engineers of Xbox the best if such action was set into motion, as I’m sure you are more than capable being you are Microsoft after all! It would bring longer player hours, which would lead to more Live subscribers, games and other amenities being sold, that I’m sure of! P.S. Don’t bother to reply, as you must be busy. Discuss the matter of a separation process of gamertag from other services engineering crew and debate the advantages vs disadvantages. Sincerely, JRod

Keep in mind the tag system is in use on other Microsoft services. So even if it's not in use no an Xbox, it may be in use elsewhere and therefore not inactive. Even if "King" was released, since someone else is already using that tag with the suffix, a new tag would also get the suffix to differentiate the accounts.

No. The suffix doesn't automatically drop off if the original tag frees up because it's already part of the gamertag.

Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, is“King#0001” next for the throne? Would he become just “King”?
