    Hey everyone,

    My gamertag was randomly reset a few months ago and I've been trying to change it back. After calling Xbox support multiple times I haven't been able to get this fixed. An agent I was in contact with a few weeks ago said that they suspected that my gamertag was mass reported by someone in an attempt to steal my gamertag. As a result, my "classic" gamertag was changed to a randomly generated name, but my "new" gamertag is still the same gamertag. My classic gamertag now says "LovelyColt03875" whereas my new gamertag still says "Casino". Xbox Support has said that the change was done by enforcement due to it being an offensive name, however, I have no enforcement strikes on my account confirming this. Also, there are many casino related games on the Xbox store and people with Casino in their name, so this can't be the case. I've tried everything I can to get in contact with support but it feels impossible. I'm starting to think my best bet is to get a strike on purpose that way I can finally get in contact with them. I'm really stuck here and just want my gamertag "Casino" back. Please help!

    File an appeal if it lets you. Something like a GT may be final as it was it was almost certainly looked at by a real person.

    Its probably something to do with a legal headache with a county XBL is available in with strict gambling laws. Still that seems like its pushing the rules (in my opinion). Tring to appeal is your best bet. (not sure if it can even be reversed since the new GT system)

    HI there,

    If there is no option for an appeal, there is nothing further you can do. Support, nor anyone in the forums can assist with any specific enforcement actions. The Safety team does not use the forums. They are only contactable through the case review process.

    Also know, if a gamertag is deemed to be offensive and the Safety team resets a tag, then the former tag is removed from circulation, and no one is able to get it.

    I can't appeal the action as there are no strikes on my account. I'm not sure what else I can do.

    There is no way to get a free change. Per the code of conduct that you agreed to, if your gamertag violates the code of conduct the enforcement team will change it to a randomly generated tag and you will have to pay to change it.

    You will have to pay to change your gamertag. The enforcement team will only issue a forced name change if your gamertag violates the code of conduct. They will change it to a randomly generated tag, not one you get to choose.

    If you're being harrassed on Live, file a complaint on those users.
