Discus and support Gamertag Length in XBoX Accessibility to solve the problem; I do appreciate Microsoft opening the possibilities of using more languages for gamertags.     I do appreciate Microsoft opening the possibilities of using more languages for gamertags. However, the length of these gamertags are too short going from 15 characters to 12. I do understand not wanting super long names but this severely limits the
    possibilities of what can be used. If you also take into account that in German, there is a lot of compound words that get quite long in length. Please consider making the length of the xbox gamertags longer so that people have more options to support their
    create names.

    Well, this new re-do of the gamertags actually opens up the way for improvement I think. They're experimenting with something new and I think the mixed reviews from the community may actually be getting to them, but (playing the devil's advocate here)
    there's also plenty of new ways you can customize your gamertag to be you. If you haven't I'd recommend reading the FAQ about it, it may shine some new light on it. https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/profile/gamertag-update-faq

    There can only be 15 characters in an Xbox Live gamertag. How long is your son's? If you are having trouble entering it in, play a game with him and select his gamertag from the lobby and select "Send friend request" or have your son send you one.

    They had to shorten the gamer tags when they added on the suffix. By adding the suffix, it enabled gamers to have the same gamer tag as another gamer. The suffix is just a way of distinguishing the different gamers with the same name.
