    Gamertag is diffrent...


    Hello,

    I just made a Xbox account using the xbox app on windows... when i log in to HALO it says a diffrent gamer tag, xbox.com profile says the same..
    I reserved the name Dirtybit in the APP, but when i logon xbox.com it says CoyIntegral435...

    When i try to change the gamertag on xbox.com it says my current gamertag is dirytbit (as it should be)
    Do any one know how to fix this?

    here is a screen shot from both the site, xbox.com in the background (white background) and the xbox app in the forground (gray)...
    Both is logged in with the same account details...

    Hello Dirtybit_,

    Not all games support the new Gamertag format.

    Most games started supporting the new format in 2020. It may take a few years to migrate all new games over to the new gamertag format, and some games (particularly titles that came out prior to or around the change) may continue to use the older gamertag system, so you may notice your gamertag appearing different while playing those specific titles.

    When you go to the official website Choose your new gamertag does it say this is your first change and therefore will be free? Because someone else has the original name to "Dirtybit" your GT has the suffix at the end.

    If the site offers a free change, you can use that to change your Legacy GT to your Modern GT (However, the suffix will be more prominent in the legacy view).
