That would be a very nice feature but they should have a setting allowing the player to enable/disable the feature on their account.

I changed mine several years back for a very good reason and I wouldn't do it again because it's my identity now. Several of the 85-95 people on my friends list change their gamertags yearly and sometimes more often than that. I forget who they are and
just delete them. When I look at my list now, I only know who a third of them are and I'm not going to ask them or try to remember who the rest are. They just have to go, sadly. (unless they are worth the effort of remembering)

Some people change their gamertags due to harrassment. I know that if I am getting harrassed because of some internet stalker or whatever, I don't want them looking at my gamertag history to see if I am the person he/she is looking for. So while it might
be nice from a curiosity standpoint that's all that feature would be good for.

I've only changed my name once. My first tag was just rushed because I didn't realise I had to change it when I got xbox live so before I changed it I thought about it for a long time and I'm pretty happy.

@Demetre having the same name for a while starts to get boring. Some people will grow out of a name they once thought was cool.

I think the feature would be cool I guess but unnecessary . If you really wanted you could just put your past gt's in your bio your self
