Yes it is, but the name must be very unique. If a dictionary can break it down, then no. Again the changes at the end of last year were made to support our ever-increasing gaming community. You can only use the Latin ISO characters (26 UPPER and corresponding
lower case letters) and the 10 Arabic Numerals for a maximum of 12.

I had to recently change my Gamertag of over two decades of use as one of the parts was deemed offensive by someone. The trouble I had as it was not clear whether the suffix was going to be forced or just suggested. It was forced and I could not then try
another. I may just try again and pay.

Sadly, times change and we have to adapt.

The only way to not get a hashtag is by changing your gamertag to one nobody else has I personally dislike it as well. It is a good idea, since many tags aren’t available, but the beauty of having something original has no prize hehe

also this format is becoming more common with things like crossplay so it will become more of the norm down the line......
