    Hey all, I have a quick question I would like to ask. I know this may sound a little silly and I'm not entirely sure if this is even possible, but I've been wanting this particular gamertag for quite sometime now. The person who currently owns it doesn't
    seem to be active/using it anymore. From my knowledge, the expiration date on gamertags is 5 years of inactivity. Would it possible to check when the last time this person has logged into their account? I just want to determine if they are making use of the
    gamertag or how long I would have to wait for a chance to grab the gamertag.

    A bit obscure to ask but some assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Gamertag Expiration :)

    Hello Till All Are One,

    As Smwutches has stated, our policy and changes to this policy within our
    Microsoft Service Agreement     states the following information:

    viii. Gamertag Expiration. You must sign into Xbox Services at least once in a five-year period, otherwise you may lose access to the gamertag associated with your account and that gamertag may become available for use
    by others.

    If a person doesn't sign into their account for 5 years, it is freed up for use. The policy started in 2016.

    If they sign into the account at all, it's considered active. They could also be using the account on a different Microsoft service.
