Gamertag duplicate

Hi Folks

I’ve got a gamertag and a gamertag2. Don’t know how this happened but it is causing issues with 2factor authentication for Fortnite.

Both gamer tags are on the same email yet they have different achievements on them. Can I get rid of the gamertag2?

Hi there - are you having any issues logging in? If not, just delete the one you're not using.

While strictly against the ToU/CoC the buying/selling of gamertags has been going on for years.The enforcement team deal with it when they can.

The new gamertag system allows duplicate gamertags now anyway,it's just the duplicate tag will have a bunch of numbers after it.The original wont.

Which device/platform do you play the game?

May I know exactly how do you see those two gamertags? It's actually not possible to have two gamertags/Xbox profiles on a single email address.

You can confirm that by logging in your account via https://account.microsoft.com website and visit https://account.xbox.com/Profile to check your gamertag.

Yeah, I agree. For example, my gamertag uses the number; not the letter.

It's bound to happen with all the combinations of letters and numbers.

I wouldn't worry about that other account to me, especially if / when it comes to them breaking the rules.

The Enforcement team would give them the suspension; not you.
