    Hello,

    I'm reaching out for help regarding a recent accidental change to my gamertag via the Xbox app on my PC. My kids were using the PC and unintentionally changed my gamertag without my permission.

    I've already used my one-time free change in the past and have paid for other changes, so I was surprised to see this one go through at no cost. I’d really appreciate it if you could help me either revert to my previous gamertag or allow a one-time courtesy change to correct the mistake.

    Unfortunately there is no way to get another free change. The only way to change it would be to pay again.

    So you made a mistake and you expect Microsoft to correct your mistake for free?

    That's not how it works.

    You make a mistake, you pay for it.

    Also the charge for changing Gamertags is so that people aren't constantly changing Gamertags every few weeks when they decide that something that's currently "trendy" is better.

    If your gamertag was created for you during Xbox LIVE sign-up, you can change the gamertag once for free. All other Xbox LIVE gamertag or Zune tag changes cost 800 Microsoft Points.

    If you made a mistake when you created your gamertag and you want to change it, you’ll have to purchase a new gamertag. All gamertag purchases must be made through the dashbboard and cost 800 Microsoft Points.
