    Gamertag change system is flawed.


    I recently changed to a completely new and unique gamertag, yet I got obnoxious numbers slapped on the back of it. No warning. I had to check the originality of my desired tag from Halo Infinite's account creation section and also a 3rd party site (and yes indeed it was unique, and most likely still is, since I'm stuck with unwanted numbers), because the gamertag change service doesn't tell you the availability of the tag. This really needs to be fixed.

    Moving on, it really feels horrible that the only solution to my problem is to pay more money and hope you get lucky with the correct tag that I type on to the text box. This shouldn't be the case with any service, unless I'm deliberately gambling. Even if I chose to pay, there's literally zero guarantees that it would work as expected. No help / refund / manual fix from customer service, which I don't understand at all if you value your customers. Extremely frustrating. I really hope this feedback is taken into account and the system gets updated.

    Yea the system was flawed and they have quietly changed it and hope no one really notices.... :)

    Same thing happened to me. You can change your gamertag once for free on the One, but it seems to have revoked my free pass and is now trying to charge me to change it. My original gamertag was obviously inappropriate, but it could at least just make me
    change it, or change it temporarily until I can come up with something else. This is extremely frustrating and feels like I'm being scammed, especially because it changed my GT to something so stupid. Clearly the system is flawed.

    I believe that any content you bought, whether it's available for sale or not, can be downloaded via your console's download history. You have nothing to fear. As far as I know, Microsoft hasn't pulled a P.T. on us.

    ^^ This is correct. MS (or any company) isn't deleting things/games off of your hard drive. I know the Double Dragon game has been yanked from the MS marketplace due to publishing rights, but I still have it on the hard drive, and I can still download
    it if I want.

    The only issue I see in regards to this is when the servers get shut down for the Xbox 360, then you won't be able to redownload any games.
