gamertag associated with my email

Sorry to hear about the email association confusion. Let's see if we can help.

It sounds like what you may need to do is just switch the associated emails on the accounts. (Also known as an alias on Microsoft's side).

This can be done but you need to make sure you can access both accounts from the accounts page here. I would also read this article about account alias' and how to add and remove them.

For the following, I will refer to Your account as Account A, and your sons account as Account B

1. Login to Account B at the account page above and create a new email alias for this account following the abovementioned article instructions
   
   1. This can be any email address as you will have the option to keep it or delete it later (you can use the provided @outlook option or an existing email that you may have)
      
   2. This new email will also act as the login for the account until you change it
      
2. Once the new email is created, set it as primary under the Your Info page
   
3. Remove your email from the account by clicking delete under the same Your info page
   
4. Once the email alias is deleted, log out of the account
   
5. Now login with Account A and verify your logged in at the top right profile section
   
6. Once you are in, go to the same Your Info space and add your email address
   
   1. You can choose to make it primary as well just to help prevent confusion
      
7. Boom, you should be done! Logout and back in to verify
   

Key things to keep in mind.

• Emails can only be associated to one account as an alias, but you can have/create as many aliases as you want.
  
• Security Info and Account Aliases are two different things for Microsoft accounts. For instance, you can have other accounts email as your recovery email. I would recommend checking this article if you have errors that pop up saying the email is still associated to another account.
  
• If you are having issue logging into an account due to not knowing the alias or other reasons, please read thru this for assistance

No gamertag is associated with my 'new' email. I removed that gamertag months ago with the 3 emails method - thanks to the tutorial I found on this site.

I need this gamertag - it's the gamertag you see on my forum avatar. years ago I created an email only to associate it with my gamertag.

Your second suggestion is interesting, but the email I want to associate my gamertag with, is also used for OneDrive and Windows 8.1 account. If I transfer this stuff to another dummy email that would be a problem, cause I won't be able to add it back. Or
am I missing something?

Well my Gamertag has the Email associated with it that is supposed to be associated with it. The other email
[INFO REMOVED] has the same info on billing.microsoft.com as my primary email (GT Email) has.

Do You Still Have The Old X-Box?

Yes: Assuming the older x-box is still functional, sign onto the old xbox (you will probably need to go through the Dashboard Update) and go to the Account Settings. Your Windows Live ID will be accessible. (This
assumes that you know your password and thus can access the account to begin with)

On that note, if you're on the old X-Box, an easy work-around would be to go to the Settings and Memory / Storage. Use a thumb drive or a transfer cable to move the profile itself onto the new x-box.

No OR Yes, But It Doesn't Work: I would recommend contacting Customer Support. You'll need to verify billing information so hopefully you remember all that, but they should be able to get it to you.

If you don't have access to your windows live ID through either of those methods, I would recommend looking back through e-mail records or something because otherwise it's gone, Sry
