    Gamertag and Microsoft account issue


    I haven't played Xbox for some years but want to get back to playing it again.

    I have logged into Xbox with my Microsoft account but somehow my Microsoft account is associated with my sons gamertag, can I get this changed so my Microsoft account is linked to my gamertag?

    My gamertag is TreaclesBrother

    My sons gamertag is TreaclesNephew

    My Microsoft account/email seems to be associated with TreaclesNephew.

    My son hasn't used Xbox for many years.

    I guess I will have to create a new gamertag then? Can I disassociate my Microsoft account from my sons gamertag?

    You can change your gamertag however you can't split or unlink you Xbox from your Microsoft account.
