gamer tag visual bug?

so about 3-4 hours ago i changed my gamertag my old one just had letters no numbers nothing and the one i have just changed it too also just has letter yet it added two gamertags to my account i looked up a solution and found if i removed my account from my xbox and re add it would show when i look at my own profile my new gamertag only and in games too but in party for me it is my old one and on other peoples accounts it’s either my new one only or both my old and new one it’s super frustrating as i just what my new one on it and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t is this a visual glitch that’ll eventually fix? i seen you have to wait 24-48 hours sometimes but i’m not sure if that applies to this case any help for a solution is appreciated

Hello Qbrto, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the change.

When you change your gamertag it can take up to a week for it to fully populate across all services. During this time you may see both the new and old gamertag but that will disappear in time.

Only enforcement can do something like that, It might be a visual bug so try re downloading your gamer tag to refresh it, enforcement.xbox.com Please double check on the enforcement
page if they removed some. Sometimes if it's a visual bug it will get refreshed in a few days, seen a few cases on both ends.
