    Hi, I am really disappointed that my gamer tag can only be 12 characters long. Personally, I think that the tag not being able to be longer than 12 chars is ridiculous with the huge number of gamers and each requiring a unique name that represents themselves. My personal tag will not be possible with this limit. Shortening it is definitely not an option. Is there any way to increase the character limit in the future at least or to report this as a complaint?

    If you can change it on a 360, you should still be able to use the old system that allowed 15 characters. Otherwise, there is no way to make it longer unless Microsoft changes the policy again in the future. The limit was shortened to make room for the sugfix that is added when people use the same tag.

    Sorry to hear that you are going through this with the gamer tag. Unfortunately you are not the only one that is going through the 15 character to 12 character transfer for gamer tags. But, unless it causes a technical error within the XBOX software, it's
    doubtful that it wont be changed back anytime soon. It was obviously changed to 12 characters for a reason and anytime a gamer tag is set up, it's always a good idea to choose your gamer tag carefully, especially after you use up your 1 free change without
    the added charge.

    Is a 14 character gt og or unique with no # like mine

    the 12 character rule came in after the xbox ones release, all new tags are 12 characters only. there is nothing special about having a 14 character tag without the # and numbers.
