Gamer tag issues

Just purchased a new Xbox 1X and when I sign in with my email it downloads an old gamer tag from years ago. I have my current gamer tag on my Xbox 1. Why is this old gamer tag still linked to my account and why does the new Xbox 1X only recognize this old
gamer tag and not even give me a choice to download my current one?

Gamer profile issue

I have a major issue with my gamer tag, it looks like it has privacy settings of a child. Wont let me play online :-( . Anybody got any solutions, at my wits end

Sounds like you might be signing into with the wrong email account for that GT. We wouldn't want you to share your email account here as the Forums are public,

but is it possible you have that email account with another Domain such as Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc?

If you are not able to find the correct email a good way to find the correct one is to use the

Find your Microsoft account email address article.

If you have access to your old console you can also check for that email address using the following steps:

1. On the home screen, look in the upper left corner. You should see your gamertag, your name and the email of phone you use to sign in rotating there.
2. If you do not see your email, you may have changed your settings to not show it.
3. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
4. Navigate to System.
5. Select Settings
6. Select Sign-in, security, and passkey

On the home screen, look in the upper left corner. You should see your gamertag, your name and the email of phone you use to sign in rotating there.
