Gamer tag isn’t allowed

Unfortunately it is not possible to circumvent any system restriction, Microsoft support cannot do it either, you could only try to use an alternative to the gamertag, for example, replace the character "1" by "l" or add an "x" at the end.

That's really strange ! I thought it might be cause the name could be a way to bypass 'cloaca' - but 'cloaca' is allowed ! ^^

It says gamer tag is not allowed try a different one but my friends have Boss at the start of their names and I have tried numerous different names just doesn’t work don’t see how Boss isn’t allowed

Sometimes it may take a little while to update when viewing your profile or in game, so maybe wait a little while or try a reset or hard reset of your console. Should be nothing to worry about and will appear with your new changed gamertag soon enough.
