    How do I keep strangers from adding me as a friend?

    So I have suddenly been receiving notices that people I do not know have added me as a friend on Xbox One. They all seem to have a gamer score of zero and upon viewing their activity feed they appear to be friending a massive amount of people (in alphabetical
    order) so I'm assuming they are up to no good. They send me messages and I block them but then a new person adds me and sends another message. It is getting annoying. Is there a way for people to search for gamer tags without having the entire name? (i.e.
    type in the letter "a" hit enter and a page full of gamer tags starting with "a" show up) Ultimately I would like to make my gamer tag and entire profile private so that no one can add me without my permission or I simply add them. I have looked through the
    privacy settings but I can only find options for activity feeds, profile/bio, and such, nothing specifying whether or not your entire account including gamer tag is private. So my question summed up: Is it possible to prevent people you don't know from adding
    you as a friend?

    I guess I don't get the issue/obsession with gamer tags. Some people are in a 5-10 year virtual waiting list for a gamer tag that they check on regularly in hopes of someday having it for their very own. It's a serious head-scratcher. There almost needs
    to be a special forum for these people, as gamer tags are apparently a incredibly huge deal to those that lack creativity for something original.
