Gamepass: The Ascent, no Ray Tracing or DLSS

The Ascent developer is aware of this issue and is looking to fix it link.

In a recent Twitter Interview with Tor Frick, the co-founder of Neon Giant, when asked about this issue said; "It is being looked at, with the intent of fixing it/bringing it to parity with Steam across the board."

"We are working with our partners on addressing this as soon as we can!" reads another tweet by Frick. "Build processes are different for the two versions, not just a storefront swap."

Sorry to say but The Ascent on the Xbox Series of consoles doesn't support Ray Tracing or Ray Traced reflections. The developer, Neon Giant, stated in an interview with Windows Central Tech that:

"We do not support ray tracing on Xbox unfortunately, it’s a PC-only feature.".

That's not to say that the title will never support Ray Tracing. But it doesn't seem to be in the cards at this time. Hopefully you can enjoy the game regardless. It is a fun time with a beautiful world. Good luck!

Am I understanding that you’re saying the windows stor version on PC available with Gamepass is not supporting raytracing?

Speculation- The Windows store build matches the Xbox version in terms of features, and could have such things enabled if and when that version is updated.

probably because some gamepass pc games are wrapped xbox games in disguise as virtual disks. devs will probably push microsoft to place the pc version there.
